Why Pearl White Cars Command a Premium Price

Pearl White Cars

Dive into automotive luxury with the pearl white cars, where each glint reveals a special brilliance. As the pearl finishes make things look even better.

Many people like white cars because of their youthfulness and elegance. However, the Pearl White cars color also has a few disadvantages that you need to keep in mind before deciding to buy a car.

Among the car colors distributed on the market, cars painted white are often the most popular with consumers. According to reports in recent years from Axalta – a place specializing in providing coatings for cars, white cars sold on the market always account for the highest percentage.

Pearl white cars have a higher price

Typically in 2021, Axalta’s survey results show that white cars account for 38%, while black accounts for 19% and gray accounts for 15%. While other colors all have rates below 10%.

These numbers partly show users’ tastes in choosing car colors as well as the popularity of white cars today.

However, it is also white, but in fact, pearl white and metallic white car models often have higher prices than regular white car models. This can also be seen in the product portfolio of the Toyota brand.

Specifically, in every Toyota car model sold in the country, if a customer chooses to buy a pearl white car, the selling price will be 8 to 10 percent higher than regular white or other colors.

Or like Honda, there are some car models that also have a pearl white version that is 5 to 10 percent more expensive than other colors. Typically the Honda Accord, Civic or HR-V.

So, why do cars painted pearl white often cost more than other colors?

The reason pearl white cars usually cost more is higher

The reason why pearl white is most popular with car buyers is because in addition to aesthetic factors, there are other reasons. Typically as:

Production costs are higher

According to Autofun ‘s research, the fact that pearl white big cars cost more than regular white and other colors partly comes from the paint composition as well as production costs.

Regular vs. Metallic Paint: Clear Distinctions

Normally, car paint colors can be divided into two types: regular paint and metallic paint. These two types of paint will have clear differences from each other and can be seen with the naked eye.

Regular Paint: Simplicity and Affordability

With regular paint, it usually does not contain metallic elements that create brilliance. This type of paint is also cheaper than metallic paint and the paint cost is also significantly lower. Because after spraying color on the base layer, you will only need to spray gloss paint to cover the thread color.

Metallic or Pearl White Paint: Shiny Elegance at a Price

Meanwhile, with metallic or pearl white paint, the ingredients also include metal powder to create a shiny look. Especially when exposed to sunlight or light, it will make the car’s appearance more shiny and beautiful. And the cost of producing this type of paint is certainly significantly higher than regular white paint.

Pearl White Paint: A Radiant Marvel

Pearl white paint is much more special than metallic white paint, because it also contains ceramic crystals. This helps reflect and refract light extremely well.

In addition, when exposed to light, the car will become iridescent like a pearl. That is why manufacturers often call this type of paint pearl white. But there will be a trade-off with production costs that are significantly higher than the two types of regular white and metallic white paint. That’s why cars painted pearl white often have higher prices than other colors.

The color mixing process is complicated

Not only is the production cost high, but pearl white also has a complex color mixing process and requires more effort than other colors.

According to experienced technicians, pearl white paint has a more complicated color mixing process. Therefore, the selling price is high and if it is accidentally scratched, repairing and repainting this color is also more difficult than regular white colors.

Other reasons

Besides the cost and complicated process, there are a number of reasons why pearl white is more expensive: market demand, better aesthetics, optimal heat absorption and the ability to retain value when reselling.

FAQs

Why is pearl white car paint more expensive?

Using a special process with more steps is necessary. Pearl white is a niche specialty luxury color, allowing them to set their prices as high as they want. If you can’t afford it, then you will have to settle for a cheaper generic color.

Is Pearl White shiny?

Pearl White is an off white color with a soft pearl metallic appearance. It is a polyester metallic powder coat and has a glossy finish.

Which pearl color is best?

The most popular pearl color is white. It symbolizes purity and is often connected to weddings and graduations.

Is Pearl White same as white?

Car colors come in different types: solid and metallic. Pearl white, also known as “Diamond white,” is a metallic color. Refrigerators with textured finishes need a smooth surface for the metallic flakes to adhere to, so they require a solid white or black color.

Ready for Adventures

With its robust design and versatile capabilities, the Mitsubishi Outlander stands prepared for any adventure, whether tackling rugged terrains or city streets.

Beauty Is in the Details

Mitsubishi’s new Outlander PHEV is an SUV, so the most important point is its comfort. The new model is available only as a PHEV is  available with three rows of seats and a seven-seater option.

The space, comfort, and texture of the seat material in the first, second, and third row seats.

The front seats are designed to give a sense of visual spaciousness with the horizontal instrument panel. When you sit in the seat, you will feel that there is more space than in this class (C segment in European cars).

In particular, the headroom is spacious. Even though if you are tall you still have plenty of room to sit

Seat comfort is also top class among domestic SUVs. Both the seat back and the seat surface are spacious, and the side supports rise up to the shoulders, so your body won’t shake at all during cornering. The front seats have a double layer of urethane inside, making them soft and comfortable. The rear seats are comfortable enough for two people.

The rear seats are 2 cm larger in seat length and 3 cm larger in seat back height compared to the previous generation. There is also plenty of room in front of the knees. You can sit comfortably with your legs crossed. It seats three people, but the center section is reserved for emergency use, and the emphasis on support for both left and right seats is also unique.

The rear seat has an independent air conditioner and the rear seat USB port is also a smart feature.

There is a built-in roll sunshade under the rear seat window. This is a feature that was only available in luxury cars until recently.

The third row of seating is notably small and more suited for children than adults. In most cases, it’s clearly designated as a space for kids.

Cargo Area:

However, in some Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs), a unique setup involves installing a motor and controller under the vehicle’s floor, allowing for three rows of seating. What’s impressive is that this design doesn’t compromise the cargo area, ensuring ample storage space even when the third row is in use.

Steering Wheel:

The steering wheel comes equipped with an integrated audio remote control and is made from genuine leather with a dimpled texture for a secure grip. The shift selector felt particularly impressive, boasting elegant movements that exude a sense of luxury. Despite the slightly distant position from the driver’s seat, the shifting operations, specifically adjusting the regenerative braking effectiveness, can be effortlessly managed using the paddles on the steering wheel.

Some More interesting Features:

An eye-catching highlight in the interior of the new Outlander PHEV is its 9-inch WVGA display, functioning as a centralized hub for features like car navigation and EV settings. Notably, it’s compatible with smartphone integration, functioning akin to a tablet for a seamless user experience.

The front console tray has a Qi-compatible wireless charging function that allows you to charge your smartphone just by placing it on it

Powerful Stuff

Experience exceptional on-demand performance with the 2024 Outlander. Its 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine offers amplified horsepower and torque, ensuring smooth acceleration. Paired with our renowned S-AWC system, equipped with six drive modes, it provides unparalleled precision and confidence on diverse road surfaces. Count on the Outlander for unwavering capability in all conditions.

Conclusion:

In summary, the Mitsubishi Outlander’s interior epitomizes the fusion of luxury, functionality, and technological advancement. With its meticulous design, the Outlander interior transcends expectations, delivering an exceptional driving environment that’s luxurious, versatile, and ahead in technology.
