Yom Kippur Adult Service

Ritual leadership: Rabbi Abigail Treu, Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan

Who is this experience for? This service is for adults only though your inner child is always welcome.

What ritual aspects and environment can I expect? Recitation of the traditional Hebrew prayers for forgiveness as well as English translations and versions; chanting of the Torah; singing and praying in Hebrew and English; and time to reflect on how to forgive, seek forgiveness, and become our best selves in the new year. There will be moments of reflection to remember your loved ones as well (yizkor).

Warm, welcoming, come-as-you-are services led by Rabbi Abigail Treu, director of the Center for Jewish Living and the David H. Sonabend Center for Israel at the Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan. Yom Kippur is our day of introspection and atoning for what we've done wrong and agreeing in community to do better in the year ahead.
