"Where's Poppa?" & "Harold and Maude" — DOUBLE FEATURE

"Where's Poppa?" (1970, Dir. Carl Reiner) — “Is that a tush!” Exasperated son George Segal can’t stop insane Jewish mother Ruth Gordon from kissing his behind, while gorilla-suited brother Ron Leibman finds his true love in Central Park, in the blackest of all black comedies. With Rob Reiner, Garrett Morris, Paul Sorvino and the original, uncensored answer to the title.

"Harold and Maude" (1972, Hal Ashby) Death-obsessed teenager Harold (Bud Cort) meets life-obsessed 79-year-old Maude (Ruth Gordon) at a funeral, sparking one of the oddest romances in screen history. She doesn't talk about the numbers tattooed on her arm but does talk about l'affaire Dreyfus. Ignored upon initial release, the film became the cult movie of the 70s and beyond. DCP.
