Person Place Thing: Gail Simmons

Gail Simmons is a culinary expert and food writer and has been a judge on Bravo's Emmy-winning series "Top Chef" since its premiere in 2006. She frequently appears on "Today," "Good Morning America" and "Fox & Friends" and has been featured in New York Magazine, Travel + Leisure, GQ and People, among other publications. In her first cookbook, "Bringing It Home: Favorite Recipes from a Life of Adventurous Eating," she shares her best recipes — from mishmosh (matzo ball soup with barley, parsnips, and chicken) to za-atar chicken schnitzel with Israeli salad — and food experiences from her travels, aiming to make them accessible for home cooks.

Simmons will talk with "The Ethicist" Randy Cohen and share a sweet treat for Chanukah.

With klezmer music by Pete Rushefsky and Jake Shulman-Ment.

Followed by a book signing reception with Book Culture.
