The Holiest Night of the Jewish Year with Rabbi Daniel Brenner and Jordan McClean and Anthony Russell

Special guest soloist Anthony Russell will chant Kol Nidre and Avinu Malkeinu with an old-world wail — while accompanied by special guest musicians.

Rabbi Daniel Brenner will be joined by an amazing group of guest perfromers.

Rabbi Daniel Brenner, named by Newsweek Magazine as one of America's most influential rabbis, has played key roles in some of the most creative organizations in the religious world, including CLAL-the National Jewish Center for Learning and Leadership, Auburn Seminary, Birthright Israel and Moving Traditions, where he currently serves as the chief of education. Brenner, whose latest Jewish cultural arts project, Klezmer Aerobics, was featured as a select pick in the Weekend Arts section of The New York Times, is a New York City-based composer, arranger, bandleader, trumpeter, producer and educator.

Jordan McLean is a New York City-based composer, arranger, bandleader, trumpeter, producer and educator. McLean has been active in the professional music world since 1992, having performed, recorded and collaborated with a multitude of musicians, ensembles, and performance organizations in the leading studios, festivals, and concert halls around the world.

Anthony Russell – Cantorial Soloist - Twelve years after making his professional operatic debut in the world premiere of Philip Glass's "Appomattox" with the San Francisco Opera Company, Anthony Russell is now a vocalist, composer and arranger specializing in Yiddish song. Anthony's work in traditional Ashkenazi musical forms led to a musical exploration of his own roots through the research, arrangement and performance of a hundred years of African American traditional music. The result of this is the album "Convergence" (2018), a collaboration with San Francisco Bay Area klezmer consort Veretski Pass exploring the sounds of one hundred years of African American and Ashkenazi Jewish music.

Derin Oge (pianist, accordion) — Born in Istanbul, Turkey, Ms. Oge has her masters in Piano Performance from SUNY Purchase and is a prolific interpreter of Classical and Contemporary repertoire for piano. She has recorded two albums with Jordan McLean's Piano Music and Song Trio and is about to begin recording her first albums of solo piano music of contemporary Turkish and American composers.

Timothy Allen (guitarist) - Hailing from Buffalo, NY, and a long-time Brooklyn resident, Mr. Allen is an in-demand freelance guitarist and bassist, and is a member of The Sway Machinery, El Imperio and Antibalas. His first solo album is available on Tiger Shrimp Records and he is about to record his second such release.

John Bollinger (drummer) — John Bollinger is known in the New York scene as an explosive force, his fearsome groove and bone shattering bursts of energy adding an incredible excitement to his wonderful feel for a multiplicity of genres. He has worked with, among others, Barbez, Nanuchka and Guignol. John debuted with The Sway Machinery in 2009 and is featured on all of the bands subsequent recordings. In addition to his work as a musician, John is an educator and an accomplished visual artist in a variety of media. His video compositions, which walk the line between comedy and high concept performance art continue to astound an ever growing circle of cognoscenti.
