"All Robbins No. 1: The Bernstein Collaborations"

(May 4, 5, 8 & 20) — Two American masters, choreographer Jerome Robbins and composer Leonard Bernstein, converge in these high-energy story ballets. "Fancy Free" follows three soldiers on shore leave in the Big City; while "Dybbuk" harkens to ancient Russian-Jewish folklore, exploring a mystical world of dreadful consequences and enduring passion. Renewing their international hit, "West Side Story Suite" brings audiences to the feuding streets of 1950s New York City with heart-rending poignancy.

Running as part of Robbins 100 (May3-20), marking the centennial of Jerome Robbins’ birth. New York City Ballet has assembled a collection of some of his most celebrated works in a tribute to the NYCB co-founding choreographer’s remarkable contributions to classical dance at large and his indelible impact on the NYCB repertory.
