In this economy paying off students loans can be extremely difficult. Are you about to begin repaying your student loans and worried about where or how to begin? Do you have outstanding loans and are having trouble making your regular monthly payments due to a change in circumstance? Are you having trouble locating your lender or difficulty communicating with your lender? What are your repayment options?
Student loans are a significant responsibility and may seem overwhelming. Successful loan repayment starts with understanding the options available to you. This workshop, led by a NYLAG financial counselor, will provide an overview of the steps you can take to help manage your student loan commitment. We will discuss where and how to retrieve your loan information and who to contact with questions. We will go over the numerous repayment options available to you and how to apply for them, and also provide information to help you communicate effectively with your lender to discuss the best repayment strategy for you. We will discuss what happens if you become delinquent and fail to repay your loans on time and what you can do to avoid default. Knowing your options is crucial to managing this financial burden. All Connect-to-Care participants who attend this workshop will have the opportunity to schedule an individual appointment with the financial counselor. Bagels and coffee will be served.
