If you thought that drinking Kiddush wine was all there was to know about kosher wine, then think again; there’s a whole world of kosher wine out there that the Society wants you to know about. In fact, there are so many varieties of kosher and Israeli wines that the registration form to join the Society asks how many bottles (!) of wine you drink each week. The choices are under 3, 3 to 7, and over 7. Maybe there should also be a Kosher AA Society too.
You can create a free user account in order to gain access to certain content areas on the site such as recipes, a wine directory, and a wine and food pairing feature.
Using the wine and food pairing feature I learned that different cheeses like blue cheese, feta cheese, and mozzarella cheese pair up with different wines. Thankfully I won’t embarrass myself now by serving up the wrong wine at my next pizza party. Unfortunately, the pairing feature doesn’t let you find out what goes nicely with falafel or shawarma.
And, while you’re in the website, you can brush up on your fancy sounding wine vocabulary so you can identify and point out a. Barbera , Chenin Blanc, Nebbiolo, Pinot Grigio, or Viognier from across the room.
